June 18, 2018 Last night the moon was wrong, all wrong. First of all, dark did not "fall" until well after 9:15PM EST. When I looked out the window at 9:35-ish PM to check the cloudcover/look for stars, I saw the moon had risen well over the treeline, its crescent rotated approximately 75° to the right, and placed in the sky at 240° northwest. It was extraordinarily large, and that it rose in the west - for the second month in a row - is against everything we have historically observed all our lives.
