ETA: Hello! I hope this finds you well and thanks in advance for helping. I am somehow being “followed” – and it seems stalked – by a WP blogger who also has others in his “stable” of site admins, and they all follow me. Lately the main one – I contacted them via the contact page a few months ago to ask who they were since same site/multiple faces and names – and He, Sebastian, replied that they were one group. I am now completely creeped out because it has become OBVIOUS that HE, Sebastian, is following many bloggers I follow and liking what I like or comment on. I WANT TO BLOCK HIS SITE AND ALL HIS BLOGGERS COMPLETELY PLEASE. He is https://en.gravatar.com/itu106

WP: Thanks. I’ve seen this image come up before. Which site(s) are they following of yours?
ETA: Oh I apologize. I believe they only follow Eating To Ascend. So you have seen it come up before! Even creepier! As you look, I must stand and stretch a moment, back in 60 seconds
WP: I don’t see your site in their followed sites. Do they only comment on your site?
ETA: On my end they record as a follower but perhaps with cloned accounts. I will show you… Are you able to see my Community section? widget on sidebar

WP: Ok, actually I believe I may have chatted with you in the past, so that is where I’ve seen this image before. If I remember correctly, you were asking about how to hide specific people from that widget, but the widget doesn’t offer that option.

There are other editors and writers on the site. As far as I know, each one of them is doing their own thing on WordPress. Sometimes we share blogs among each other but that’s all. Your last question got me thinking and I don’t know what to say. I visited your blog EatingToAscend.com and I do agree that we don’t know the complete picture of what’s going on. We’ve been also led to believe that the sicknesses of the body aren’t related to what we eat but I disagree. About ten years ago I heard a scientist from Cuba talk about the dangers of dairy in a family reunion. That was the last day I ate milk and I’ve been feeling better ever since. Little by little more food isn’t allowed in my house, but there’s a lot to learn. The argument of the scientists was met with anger by the rest of my family. There’s a “genetic” sickness on the liver of my bloodline, but according to him it was all because of milk. To tell you the truth, I’m free from my family curse but they don’t believe me. WP: With a public site, it is not possible to prevent specific people from following. You do have the option to control who can comment though. https://wordpress.com/support/settings/discussion-settings/#comment-moderation
ETA: You would have to show me the chat history, as I don’t recall bringing this issue up previously. I am aware how to manage comments. I began this chat explaining I want to ban certain followers and I have shown who they are. They are either SEO or government or both.
WP: Blocking followers is not a feature of WordPress.com, I’m afraid. If you want, you can make the entire site private. That will keep anyone from following if you haven’t invited them. Would that be ideal in your case?
ETA: No. I am an evangelist. Thank you for explaining the rules so clearly! It will all work out in the end. If I brought this up before – Sebastian, I would love to see that transcript please. I have observed “he” (I am guessing an alphabet agent) has also begin following others I myself follow. So I am not a sole target. I encourage WP to look into “him” and “his” purpose following bloggers. Because this is a very specious issue.
WP: No worries. I’m going from memory. I don’t see the chat now but I recall that it was the My Community widget and the same image. I can definitely ask our team to look into the accounts that use this image, however.
ETA: Thank for explaining. I am not worried for myself but for others. I think this “blogger” seems suspicious. At the very least he/they are possibly plagiarizing somewhere. Thanks again.
