Days before, seeing a woman leaving her infant in a playpen holding her SMARTphone, without thinking, I said aloud: “What mother would let her baby harm its brain like that?” and started a firestorm of defensive anger aimed at me, screaming at me that I insulted their capabilities as a mother. “It’s bad for their developing brains. Do your own research, I said”, and walked away. These two encounters reveal the effects of salt and light.
