The song was re-released in 1980 to promote the band’s compilation album A Decade of Rock and Roll: 1970 to 1980. This time, it went to #77 US.
Apparently, the girl this song was written about has been missing for decades. Lead singer of the band and songwriter of TIME FOR ME TO FLY says: “I literally just got a call from this mystery TV show – kind of a reality TV show – that the girl that I wrote ‘Time for Me to Fly’ about went missing,” Cronin told Songfacts in 2017. “Literally, went missing like, 30 years ago. And they were calling me. I declined to be filmed for the show.”

If find it more than interesting that this is my earworm the last few weeks, with all the targeted harassment I am now undergoing. I was never a top 40 music person, so the fact that an REO Speedwagon song is my unbidden idle-moment (as if there are any! not!) is beyond ridiculous. I hear the Universe. You’re welcome. It’s not directed at a person, at least, not from how I perceive it resonates within myself. It’s so odd how a song one never paid much attention to will enter the thoughts musically, of its own accord (a chord or more than one lol). I’m not really trying to tease out a meaning. I just think it’s very interesting, especially in light of all that is happening now; the increased electronic harassment and digital interference and surveillance, the nanotechnology and 5G activation of it, and… Nibiru overhead, in all its terrible electromagnetic glory the geoengineering barely hides.

Yes, I am aware that you had not intended to direct to anybody. But, there was just a thought in me that just grew up, which I shared.
Right, sometimes, when we have a re-look at something after a long time; we get a new insight! For me, going back to things / thoughts just for no reason is the way the nature want me to re-examine and get something out of it; which is valuable with new knowledge / perceptions!
I equally cherish the heart connection. I guess the more we connect with stronger connections, more we are able to withstand the wave harassment.
